Happy Veterans Day!

“On that day let us solemnly remember the sacrifices of all those who fought so valiantly, on the seas, in the air, and on foreign shores, to preserve our heritage of freedom, and let us reconsecrate ourselves to the task of promoting an enduring peace so that their efforts shall not have been in vain.” — Veterans Day Proclamation, Dwight D. Eisenhower

Thank you to the brave men and women of our armed forces who have served our country.

November 11th is a historically significant date that commemorates the end of WWI. On this day in 1918, at 11:00 a.m. on the 11th day of the 11th month, the fighting between the Allied forces and Germany ceased. Since then, our country has chosen this day to celebrate the brave men and women of our armed forces.

We hope you can take some time today to honor the veterans in your life. Engage in a conversation, lend a sympathetic ear, listen respectfully and ask compassionate questions about their service. Consider supporting those who have served our country by personally thanking, volunteering at a VA hospital or making a donation to a charity that aids veterans. Demonstrate your patriotism at a local parade, fly the flag proudly at your home, or take a veteran you know to one of our country’s National Parks — admission is free for all visitors on Veterans Day!

However you choose to commemorate this special holiday, we wish you and your family a very happy Veterans Day.
